Angeles Crest Highway Motorcycle Accident Kills 1

Media sources report that a motorcyclist died and another injured following two separate wrecks on the newly reopened Angeles Crest Highway Sunday.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Crescenta Valley Station’s Lt. Angela Shepherd said the fatal motorcycle accident happened near mile marker 57 and the injury occurred 10 miles away at mile marker 47.

California Highway Patrol Officer Chad Kaplan said a 35-year-old man was killed while riding his 2007 Honda eastbound on SR-2, west of Cloud Burst Summit at a high rate of speed. The man failed to properly negotiate a left curve and left the road. The bike flipped and ejected the man. The bike and man then fell down a steep embankment. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.

No information was provided about the second, non-fatal motorcycle accident except to say that the motorcyclist went over the side of an embankment at mile marker 47.

As a Los Angeles motorcycle accident attorney, I’m saddened to learn of the death of this individual on the Angeles Crest Highway. My heart goes out to the friends and family of the biker during this tragic time.
